Testimonial:

"We chose you because of the in-depth market analysis and property information you prepared for our lot. That's what got you the listing. The sale went well because of established relationships and good reputation you enjoy with the well drillers, perk testors, and county officials who ended up being important to the successful completion of the sale."

A Brief History of Geyserville

Named after The Geysers in Northern Sonoma County, Geyserville is the home of world-class wineries.

Grizzly bear hunter William Bell Elliott discovered The Geysers in April 1847 when he came upon a narrow canyon of hot springs. These were not true geysers but a natural wonder just the same.

In the 1920s, attempts were made to tap into The Geysers as a power source. Unfortunately, the endeavor failed due to equipment problems, and no further attempts were made until the 1970s. In 1990, a project that involved injecting Santa Rosa water into The Geysers via a pipeline was set in motion and is now almost complete.

The Geyserville tourism industry evolved in the mid-1800s as word traveled fast about the hot springs, drawing many sightseers. At first an informal travel destination, soon fancier restaurants, hotels and stores were established and the settlers began to prosper. In addition to tourism, agriculture continues to be a vital part of the city's economy. Farmers have planted many crops throughout the past century, with vineyards predominating since the "wine boom" of the 1970s.

In addition to wineries offering tours and tasting, Geyserville offers water recreation with Lake Sonoma and the Russian River close by. Residents enjoy the Geyserville's small-town charm and peaceful countryside views.

Geyserville is approximately 8 miles north of Healdsburg on Highway 101 and 24 miles west of Calistoga (Napa County) on Highway 128. Location of other cities and communities can be found on the Map of Sonoma County.
